The Missouri Supreme Court has denied an appeal to overturn the death sentence for convicted killer Craig Wood.
Wood was convicted of kidnapping, rape and murder in the death of 10-year-old Hailey Owens in Springfield.
Defense attorneys argued it was unconstitutional for the judge to give Wood the death penalty when the jury couldn’t agree on how to sentence him.
But the justices disagreed.
