Torrential Rains, Strong Winds In Ozarks

Torrential rains and strong winds have been the biggest problems with storms moving through the Ozarks today.

Wind gusts knocked down some power lines and tree limbs in Joplin around noon today.

Wind gusts around 50 miles an hour were reported at the Joplin airport and at the Monett airport.

The rains led to some flash flooding.

Rescue crews worked a water rescue near Brushyknob in eastern Douglas County after a car ended up in the water near county roads 125 and 134.

Flash flooding was also reported at Highways EE and AD near the North Fork River in Douglas County.
