Springfield Police Identify Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash

UPDATE:

Police in Springfield have identified the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash this morning at Kearney and Concord.

Officers say Joshua Jiles, who was from Brighton, died at the scene.

Investigators say Jiles was hit on the side of his bike by a pickup truck.

The investigation is on-going as to the circumstances involved in the crash

One person is dead and another is hospitalized after a crash Saturday morning.

The crash on Kearney and Concord happened in the early nine o’clock hour between a motorcyclist and another vehicle.

The motorcyclist is dead. Traffic has been blocked on the street for over five hours.

On July 6, 2019 at 09:15 a.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to the intersection of Kearney and Concord in response to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck.

A black, 2001 Ford Explorer pickup, driven by 62-year-old Gary Harbour of Springfield, was turning left onto Kearney from Concord, when it struck a silver, 2006 Honda CBR1000RR motorcycle, which was traveling eastbound on Kearney.

The intersection is partially controlled with a stop sign at northbound Concord. The driver of the motorcycle, 33-year-old Joshua Jiles of Brighton, died at the scene from injuries related to the crash. Next of kin has been notified.

This is the seventh fatality motor vehicle crash in Springfield during 2019.
