Springfield City Council Delays Vote on Raising Smoking Age

Springfield City Council delayed a decision to raise the minimum smoking age in the city from 18 to 21 years old.

City Council and the Springfield Health Department are still working on the wording of the two bills.

One focuses on getting rid of the fine that comes with being caught smoking underage.

The second bill would raise the smoking age for cigarettes, including e-cigs.

City Council will revisit the issue on July 15th.
