Storms rolled through the Ozarks Wednesday afternoon, producing torrential downpours, dangerous lightning, and even some small hail.

The National Weather Service reported strong gusts, hail, and heavy rain at the airport around 2:20 p.m.

The storms caused some scattered power outages in Springfield.

City Utilities says about 235 customers were without power at one time.

The National Weather Service says the storm threat will diminish early this evening.

Torrential Rain, Lightning In Storms Wednesday

There were multiple reports of impassible roadways in Cassville, including State Highway 37.

One car was stranded and there was quarter size hail spotted in the area.
