A Springfield man with a history of accusations of inappropriate behavior is now accused of child rape.
Michael Helm, who is 33, was charged on Thursday with statutory rape against a child younger than ten.
According to official documents, the child told authorities that Helm had touched her inappropriately many times before forcing her to have sex with him. She said that Helm threatened to kill her family if she told anyone.
Prior allegations against Helm include pulling down the pants of a 7-year-old, messaging a 13-year-old online, touching a 9-year-old on the crotch, and touching a 7-year-old on the genitals. Springfield Police searched Helm’s Facebook accounts and found hundreds of pictures of girls who were 14 or younger in swimsuits or in dresses.
He is held in Greene County Jail without bond.
