Greene County Disaster Response Transitions To Recovery Efforts

The Springfield-Greene County Emergency Management Office is closing the volunteer coordination center at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogersville.

The county has been using the church since storms hit the area last week.

Now, Director Larry Woods says the county is transitioning from emergency response to recovery efforts.

Woods says volunteers are still needed to clean up the tornado damage in Rogersville, along with storm debris around the county.

If you’d still like to volunteer – or if you still need help – just call 211.

Woods says financial donations are still needed, too.

You can make a financial donation to Greene County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) fund through the United Way of the Ozarks.

The COAD is a partnership of local organizations that provides for the long-term recovery needs after a disaster through case management.
