The National Weather Service in Springfield says thunderstorms are expected this week.
Meteorologist Cory Rothstein, says he does not expect it to get too severe overnight, and most of the storms are likely to be along and near the I-44 corridor.
“As we get into later in the week, there’s a slight risk for Tuesday for severe weather. We’re looking at large hail and damaging winds but we’re uncertain about a tornado threat with that right now.” says Rothstein.
He says the farther northwest you go, the more rain you are likely to receive.
There’s a slight risk for severe weather Tuesday and a greater chance of flooding increases slightly as we move later into the week.
