I first fell in love with news when I walked into my first broadcast writing course at Missouri State University with my mentor Miss Shelton. I had started as a theatre major but quickly found that my love for the community translated better in a news format. I love sharing stories that impact peoples live, preserving a piece of the community and providing listeners with what they need to know.

I bring with me 3 years news reporting experience, 2 from on air reporting at KSMU during my undergraduate. I currently teach per-course at MSU in the MJF department. I recently graduated with an MA in communication.

I have a passion for being around people but the most important one in my life is my daughter. Between her, my mom, our two dogs and one cat we have a house filled with life (but really I mean lots of sounds)! When I am not covering breaking news and teaching my daughter how to twirl in her princess dress I am working on anything media.

I’ve worked on several independent and student film projects. One of which was the College Emmy award-winning web series, Epilogue. I also work with local community theatre groups on varying projects.  I love Springfield and the surrounding communities that make it up. I look forward to the years to come reporting live breaking news for the KTTS team.
