(MIssourinet)  -  Some high-tech help is improving safety for drivers who travel around the state,  especially on the interstates and heavily traveled major highways.

Things like road detectors, vehicle and weather sensors, a network of cameras and more than 13-hundred connected signals are like another pair of eyes and ears for MoDot.

Everything is monitored from centers in Springfield, Kansas City and St. Louis.

MoDot says portable bluetooth sensors are used as an effective way to gather information in places like work zones.
