Republicans Question Governors Budget
(Missourinet) -House Republican budget writers say the governor's plan to fund state government depends on revenue that will probably never show up.
Lawmakers would have to approve 164 million dollars in funding from a new internet sales tax, an amnesty plan for folks who owe more than $50 million in back taxes, and repealing tax breaks for low income renters, as well as $34 million from expanded Medicaid coverage.
In the meantime Republican leaders are working with a predicted 3 percent increase that would leave about 80 million dollars for new programs.
