Missourians Should Expect Similar Levels Of Heating Use This Winter

The winter weather outlook in Missouri is a bit more challenging to forecast than many other states, according to National Weather Service forecaster Jon Gottschalck.

Gottschalck tells the Missourinet that La Nina potentially emerging for the second year in a row creates a big wildcard in how Missouri’s winter will shape up.

Meteorologists say we can expect the first half of winter to include above normal temps in southern Missouri and the second half to have below normal temps in northern Missouri.

Most of the state is expected to have an increase in precipitation this winter, especially during the last half of winter.
