The Missouri State Lady Bears take a 29-22 lead over the Wichita State Shockers at halftime at JQH Arena in Springfield.
After three lead changes in the opening quarter, MSU went ahead 10-9 when Audrey Holt made two free throws with 4:18 to go in the first to take the advantage, and they went on a 10-2 run to open up an 18-11 lead after ten minutes.
When Liza Fruendt hit a three pointer with 4:37 left in the second quarter, the Lady Bears had their largest lead of nine points.
The Shockers made it a two point game when Angiee Tompkins hit a shot, was fouled, and sank a free throw at the 2:24 mark, but Fruendt unloaded another one from long distance to increase MSU's lead.
Fruendt has 13 points to lead Missouri State in scoring, while Keke Thompson's six points are tops for the Shockers.
The Lady Bears come into the contest at 4-9 overall, 0-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Wichita State is 5-8, 0-2.
