Utility customers around Springfield are being warned of a possible scam going around involving City Utilities.
CU took to Twitter Wednesday to warn folks about phone calls that say your meter needs to be changed and threatening messages about to shutting off service if you don’t pay.
CU says the person might also be going door-to-door posing as a City Utilities employee.
Keep an eye out for this scammer’s number - 417-241-6289.

Someone posing as CU may call and tell you they are changing your electric meter, tell you you owe money and that, if you don't pay it, you won't have electricity after the meter is changed. The scammer gave the phone number 241-6289.
