Mizzou President Begins State Tour In Moberly
MOBERLY, Mo. (AP) - University of Missouri system president Tim Wolfe is launching a statewide tour with a visit to Moberly High School.
Wolfe's "Show Me Value" tour is intended to promote the importance of higher education to Missouri residents. He was beginning the initiative Friday before a group of Moberly eighth- and ninth-graders.
University officials say Wolfe wants to combat a "growing national sentiment" that devalues the benefits of a four-year college degree and suggests more students enter the workforce sooner.
Wolfe's agenda in Moberly included a discussion with local business leaders about workforce training.
