Update: Crash On Interstate Involved Mt. Vernon Fire Truck
New details about a crash Monday afternoon on Interstate 44 between a fire truck and another truck.
That fire truck was from the Mt. Vernon Fire Department and Driven by Melvin Ownes. He escaped with minor injuries.
Two twenty-year olds in the other truck had serious injuries according the Highway Patrol.
The firetruck was stopped in a crossover with its lights on. The other truck was towing a car and crashed into the median.
