The Salvation Army's Emergency Cold Weather Shelter is now open for anyone who needs a safe, warm place to stay. The ECWS is located at 1707 W. Chestnut Expressway.
So far this winter, 180 individuals - including men, single women & families with children- have been assisted by the ECWS. The current record, reached during the 2010-2011 winter season, was 195 individuals.
The Salvation Army is also preparing for a possible emergency disaster situation should the weather conditions turn extreme later this week,
