Veterans in the Ozarks won't have to go as far to get a check-up or other medical needs. Right now getting health care can mean four or five hour rides across the state.
Officials hope to cut that down to a half-hour with two new VA clinics.
One is planned to open by September in Marshfield. A site is still being scouted for a second facility in Springfield, they hope it will open in 2015.
The new Springfield clinic will mean the closing of an older one in Mount Vernon.
