Springfield Sees Shifts In Tax Revenues
The numbers may not look so good right but now but City leaders think things will even out for the Springfield general sales tax fund.
They say that's due to two things.
The first being that the checks the city gets from the state vary widely month to month. So what may be a down month is often quickly balanced by more money than expected the next.
The use tax fund, which is collected from goods made outside the state, is also up over a half million dollars for the year. T
hat's a good thing since the general sales tax fund is down for the fiscal year about $810,000.
