Branson Police Offering Active-Shooter Training To Businesses
Millions come to Branson each year for the shows and sights. One thing they hope they never see is a deadly shooting like the one at a movie theater in Colorado last year that left a dozen dead.
Branson Police are being proactive and offering businesses free training on what to do if there was an active shooter.
Police Chief Kent Crutcher says it's something open to all businesses.
The training is based on Homeland Security's three rules, run or hide, and as a last resort, fight. That training starts next week.
Classes will be in Council Chambers at Branson City Hall next Friday (2/22) from 9:30 - 11:00AM.
Another class will be offered again on February 25th 3:00PM - 4:00PM.
They are free to attend but the Police Department asks that businesses RSVP at 417-337-8537.
