The pickup crashed in a wooded area behind a house. The driver ran but deputies were able to arrest a woman passenger and take custody of a six month old child.
Deputies were assisted by the Highway Patrol, state Conservation agents and Miller Police in an area near Lawrence County 2015 and Highway 266.
A door to door search ended with nightfall but authorities are continuing patrols. Homeowners are being reminded to lock their doors and report anything that appears to be suspicious.
