Governor Nixon Heads National Council
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A national organization created to help state government officials across the country share ideas holds its annual convention this year in Kansas City.
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is the 2013 president of the Council of State Governments. The Kentucky-based organization was founded in 1933 and includes officials of executive, legislative and judicial branches nationwide.
The council's annual conference is scheduled in Kansas City for Sept. 19-22.
