Cattle ranchers around Lawrence County are tired of having thieves targeting their cattle herds and their families livelihood.

Rustlers have hit farms twice in recent weeks, and the sheriff says he and his deputies are doing all they can to stop and catch the rustlers.

Random checks are being made on cattle trailers on the highways.

Sheriff Brad Delay says farmers can play he biggest part in the stopping the thefts.

Things like branding their herds and watching out for suspicious activity and reporting it immediately to authorities.
