Earthquake Drill In Missouri Today
(Missourinet) - The last time Missouri had a major earthquake was 200 years ago, but it's always a possibility.
Today, schools, families and businesses around the state are taking part in the third annual "Great Central U.S. ShakeOut" Drill.
The exercise helps folks practice what to do if they were in an earthquake.
Truman elementary school in Springfield is among the schools taking part in the statewide drill from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
The drill is being coordinated by the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency.
More than 400,000 Missourians are expected to take part.
