With 70 percent support from parents who responded to a survey, the Springfield School Board  is expected  to approve plans for year round school at Robberson Community School at its meeting on February 19th.

Board President Dr. Tom Prater says the goal is to keep students from losing what they learn during the school year over the summer.

The plan will include a shorter summer vacation along with two week breaks in October, December, March and May. During those times, tutors will be available at the school to help students who need extra help.

Parents who chose not to participate can transfer their children to an adjacent school.

The new schedule begins in August.
