Dry Conditions Fuel Taney County Fire
From A Press Release
On Thursday, the Western Taney Co. Fire Protection District responded to the area of Songbird Rd. on E Hwy 76 for investigation of smoke in the area.
Firefighters found a shed fully involved in flames on Keys Ln. Firefighters were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire. The fire started when wind spread flames from a control burn to dry leaves and the shed. The shed was a total loss.
The Fire District would like remind everyone that even with the recent rain the area is still in a drought and conditions are dry. Please use caution when burning and do not burn on days with high winds and low humidity.
Contact your local fire department or the Department of Conservation for daily fire conditions.
