Boy, 13, Accused Of Robbing Arkansas Gas Station
GENTRY, Ark. (AP) - Authorities in northwest Arkansas have arrested a 13-year-old boy on suspicion of robbing a gas station at gunpoint. Police say the robbery was reported Tuesday afternoon at a gas station in Gentry.
Police say the boy walked into the store wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and carrying a .22-caliber revolver.
According to police, the youth was captured a few blocks away from the gas station. Police say the gun was unloaded. Fayetteville television station KHOG reports that the boy told officers he stole the gun from his parents' bedroom after breaking into their room with an ax.
Police say the boy was taken to the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of aggravated robbery and possession of a handgun.
