20-Year Sentence In Bombing Case
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis County man who planted a bomb in a parking garage that severely injured a lawyer has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
A federal judge sentenced 41-year-old Milton "Skip" Ohlsen III on Wednesday. He pleaded guilty in September to four charges related to the 2008 bombing.
Ohlsen, a former political operative, concealed the bomb in a gift basket on Oct. 15, 2008, and placed the basket near an Acura TL inside a Clayton parking garage.
Ohlsen believed the Acura belonged to attorney Richard Eisen, who had represented Ohlsen's former wife in a divorce and custody case.
He was wrong.
The car belonged to another lawyer, John Gillis, who suffered permanent injuries when he moved the basket away from the driver's door of his Acura TL.
