Edited news release from MoDOT:

Weather: Forecasts indicate that rain could change to change to snow in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 30, moving from the northwest to the southeast. An accumulation of about 1 inch is possible north of U.S. 54 and less than 1 inch between U.S. 54 and I-44 and possibly further south.

MoDOT Response: MoDOT Southwest District crews will be called in starting at midnight in the Clinton, Warsaw, Osceola and other areas in the north and by 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. further south, including the Nevada, Joplin and Springfield areas and other locations.

Road Conditions: The air temperature is expected to be in the mid- to low 30s with gusty winds. Some roads may become snow covered. Greatest risk for slick pavement will be on bridge floors. MoDOT crews will be ready to plow snow and spread salt if needed, including bridges.

Drive Safely: Get up early. Listen to weather reports. Check road conditions on MoDOT's Traveler Information Map. Be prepared  to leave early for work. Be careful on bridges, ramps, hills and curves. Slow down, brake and accelerate gently, leave plenty of following distance.
