GOP lawmakers say the governor's call for more money for education, both K-12 and colleges and universities and expanding medicaid coverage using federal(taxpayer) dollars while admirable,  can't be done given the state's economic climate.

Some like Springfield state representative Eric Burlison say while they'd like to spend more money for education,  there just isn't enough money available to do what the governor wants.

Burlison also says when it comes to increased medicaid coverage,  it won't generate economic development by placing  more working class Missourians on welfare.
