Task Force Studies Unfunded Federal Mandates
A task force looking at ways to pay for a billion dollars worth of unfunded federal mandates in Greene County says environmental regulators need to change the way the orders are issued.
Environmental Affordability Task Force Chairman Rob Dixon tells KTTS News says the problem comes when various agencies issue decisions on top of previous decisions made by another agency. The task force is recommending leaders address the issues collectively rather than individually.
It also wants the EPA and Missouri DNR to consider the economic impact when governments chose not to help cover the cost.
