New Strain Of Norovirus Popping Up In Ozarks

A new strain of a stomach bug happening across the U.S. is starting to pop up around the ozarks.

The Springfield Greene-County Health Department says its called the Sydney strain of norovirus and is commonly spread in closed places.

The common symptoms are stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  Norovirus is highly contagious and is often mistaken for the stomach flu.

The CDC estimates each year, norovirus causes 21 million illnesses and 800 deaths.
