Smokers Rights Group Pushes Against St. Louis County Exemptions
CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A smokers' rights advocate is asking the 135 St. Louis County establishments that hold exemptions to the countywide smoking ban to protest a proposal removing most of those exemptions.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Bill Hannegan sent letters to owners of the establishments, in response to a bill introduced by County Councilman Mike O'Mara. The Florissant Democrat wants to make the smoking ban stricter.
Hannegan, of St. Louis, is director of a group called Keep St. Louis Free.
