I-64 Bridge In St. Louis Closing This Weekend
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Motorists who use Interstate 64 in St. Louis may want to consider alternatives this weekend.
Missouri Department of Transportation crews plan to close the interstate between Kings highway and Forest Park Parkway in both directions starting Friday night. The highway is expected to reopen at 3 a.m. Monday.
The shutdown is necessary because MoDOT is removing two bridges over the interstate, at Taylor and Newstead avenues. Plans call for both bridges to be rebuilt.
Westbound drivers will need to exit at Forest Park Avenue and follow a detour to Kings highway, which will then take them back to the interstate.
Eastbound drivers will exit at Hampton Avenue, go to Interstate 44, and continue east that way.
