Kids In Springfield To Be Limited On Charging Their Lunch At School
Kids in Springfield schools will be limited on how many times they can charge their lunch starting next month.
For high schoolers, it's once, while your younger kids get two charges.
R-12 School Spokeswoman Teresa Bledsoe tells KTTS Assistant News Director Nancy Simpson the tab on this over the last two years has skyrocketed to $75,000. In fact, 400 kids have a tab of $50 or more.
Bledsoe says the kids affected aren't the most in need. Those kids already get food through the free and reduced lunch program.
Students who forget to bring their food can always get a deli lunch box.
