Long Backs No Budget No Pay Act
From A Press Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Billy Long supported legislation that would withhold members’ pay until that member’s chamber has passed a budget resolution.
“The American people are eager for their elected representatives to be faithful stewards of their taxpayer dollars and get our nation’s fiscal house in order. My House colleagues and I have passed a budget every year I have been in Washington that promotes economic growth and addresses our nation’s debt crisis. It is time for the Senate to do the same. If Washington fails at the basic task of producing a budget we should have our pay withheld,” Long said.
The Senate has failed to pass a budget resolution for nearly 4 years.
