Springfield Police Department Struggling To Find Qualified Applicants
You may be used to having to have a resume for your job interview, add to that list a mental evaluation, physical fitness test, and an intense background check and you might be ready to be a cop in Springfield.
The department is hoping to get twenty-one new recruits for its academy next month, but officials say they may not hit that number.
The Springfield News-Leade reports the shortage of qualified applicants is worsened by the fact that eight high-ranking officers with at least twenty years experience left last year.
