St. John Bosco Downs Nixa 73-63 In Third Place Game At Tournament Of Champions
One night after falling to the nation's top ranked high school basketball team, the Nixa Eagles suffered their second straight defeat, falling 73-63 to St. John Bosco in the third place game at the 29th Annual Bass Pro Tournament of Champions.
The Eagles kept it close in the first half at JQH Arena, trailing 19-17 after one quarter and 37-34 at the half before the Braves went up by double digits in the third, 55-44. St.John Bosco extended its advantage to as many as 15 points early in the fourth quarter and cruised to victory.
Isaac Hamilton and Tyler Dorsey had 22 points each for the Braves, while future MSU Bear Austin Ruder had 22 points for Nixa, followed by Jacob Ruder with 16.
Nixa drops to 13-3 with the loss, while Bosco, from Bellflower, California, improves to 14-4.
