MSU Lady Bears Take 36-33 Halftime Lead Over Drake At JQH Arena

The MSU Lady Bears, in search of their first Missouri Valley Conference win of the season, lead the Drake Bulldogs 36-33 at the half at JQH Arena.

The game has featured eight lead changes, three ties, and 26 turnovers, with the Lady Bears committing 14 of them.

Neither teams has been ahead by more than six points, with MSU's largest lead coming at the 10:18 mark when Kenzie WIlliams hit a three pointer to cap off an 11-0 Lady Bears run and an 18-12 lead.

But Drake later tied the contest 25-25 when Carly Grenfell hit a three pointer, and briefly took the lead 28-27 on Mary Pat Specht's shot from beyond the arc with 4:18 to play.

The Lady Bears snatched the lead right back when Williams hit a shot with 4:05 remaining. Desiree Phillips later added a three pointer.

Williams has 11 points to lead Missouri State, followed by Whitney Edie's seven. Kyndal Clark, a Webb City grad, has 11 to top Drake.

Both teams come into today's game looking for their first win in the Valley. The Lady Bears are 8-7 overall, 0-3 in the Valley. Drake is 5-10 overall, and 0-4 in conference play.
