Grassroots Effort To Expand Missouri Medicaid Comes To Springfield
A health advocacy group in Missouri held an event in Springfield today to push for medicaid expansion.
Dr. Susan Hinck with Missouri Health Advocacy Alliance says it would bring the state nearly $16 million in federal matching funds.
"[the proposed expansion] will give 24,000 new jobs for health care providers - all of whom are paying taxes into the state general revenue," says Dr. Hinck.
Dr. Hinck says Governor Nixon has included funding for the expansion into his budget proposal, and she hopes the state legislature does the same.
