Joplin Woman Arrested For Having Meth

1/9/2013 @ 2:20 p.m., Shannon E. Martinez, 40 of Joplin, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at 21st and Willard in Joplin.
During a routine traffic stop, the Deputy noticed the driver and passenger to be very nervous. Located inside a diaper bag were 6 used syringes, several plastic baggies with a white residue and a metal spoon with a white residue.
The residue field-tested positive for methamphetamine. There were 3 small children in the vehicle.
The charges for which the above were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt.
Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
