Man Charged With Dousing Stone County Deputy With Gasoline
A man from Reeds Spring has been charged with a some felonies after assaulting a deputy this week.
The sheriff says deputies saw Joey Lynn Plunkett, 43, trying to set a vehicle on fire off Craig Street.
Plunkett then tried to run over a deputy and hit a tree. When he got out of the vehicle he threw gasoline on the deputy and tried to light a lighter.
Authorities took him down and got him cuffed.
Plunkett is charged with 2 counts of first-degree assualt on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. His bond is set at $500,000.
