Congress Creates Budget Uncertainty In Missouri
(Missourinet) - The congressional budget compromise approved last week appears to have done state budget writers no favors.
With only three weeks before the governor gives the legislature his budget outline, state budget director Linda Luebbering is missing a lot of answers that are critical.
The budget deal has put off discussions on spending cuts for a least a couple of months.
Luebbering has been putting state budgets together for a long time, and she's never seen this much uncertainty.
One third of of the state budget is financed with federal money.
