Lt. Governor Peter Kinder Wanting Nomination For Congressional Seat
Vying for votes, Missouri Lieutenant Governor Peter Kinder is officially seeking the congressional seat in southeast Missouri.
Kinder has been meeting with the 80 voting members on the 8-th Congressional District Republicans Committee. Just before Christmas he sent them each a letter, touting himself as a 'proven conservative' and a ' team player' in the party.
Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson is leaving the seat to lead a Washington, D.C. group advocating for rural electric cooperatives.
Other republicans wanting her post are Lloyd Smith, Jason Smith and Sarah Steelman.
