(MissouriNet) - Missouri Democratic Senator Claire McCaskill says her New Year's resolution for 2013 is to keep reaching across the aisle to work with Republicans.
She says she counts Senator Roy Blunt as a friend she can work on things with.
As 2012 comes to an end, McCaskill has high hopes for both Democrats and the GOP in Washington in the new year.
She says she especially wants to work on the guns and automatic weapons issue.
The farm bill, violence against women, and the postal bill are some of the issues McCaskill says she disappointed the House did not take up in 2012.
