Christmas Tree Recycling Underway
If you're ready to recycle your Christmas tree, there are several places to take it in Springfield.
The Boy Scouts will take your tree through January 1 for a $2 donation at Bass Pro Shops on south Campbell. Drop off times are from noon to 6 p.m.
The trees will be used for fish habitat.
Wickman's in Springfield and Monett will take the trees through January 13 for $5.
Drop off times in Springfield will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
In Monett, you can donate trees from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The trees will be ground up into free mulch.
You can also drop them off at the Yardwaste Recycling Center west of Springfield.
The recycling fee of $3 will be waived for residential Christmas trees through January 26.
After that, a $3 fee will apply.
