More Than Seventy Thousand Without Power In Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Electric outages are spreading across central Arkansas.
Entergy Arkansas reports more than 73,000 customers without power Tuesday, including about 38,000 in the Little Rock area.
About 10,000 customers were out in Garland County, along with about 7,500 in Hot Spring County. About 4,000 were out in White County and close to 10,000 in Saline County. Those figures include First Electric Cooperative customers.
Lonoke County had about 6,000 outages and Jefferson County about 2,000.
The winter storm brought hours of freezing rain to central Arkansas and the precipitation is forecast to turn to snow.
Snow was falling as far east as Morrilton as evening approached and parts of western Arkansas had already gotten several inches.
A blizzard warning remains in effect for northeast Arkansas as the storm moves east.
