Missouri Out Millions In Lost Internet Sales Tax Dollars
A business expert with the University of Missouri says it projects that this state will lose over o$1 billion dollars in e-commerce sales tax between 2011 and 2014.
Missouri has joined 24 other states to get federal laws changed which currently say sales tax can only be collected if a business has a building in the state.
Spokesman Andrew Wesemann tells KTTS News, for example since Walmart has brick and mortar stores in this state, it has to pay the e-commernce sales tax while Amazon does not.
