Springfield Firefighters Association Local 152 is proud to announce their endorsements of the city council
candidates for the City of Springfield.  The election will be held on April 2, 2012.   Members of Springfield
Firefighters Association unanimously voted for all five candidates to seek election in April for their respected
seats.   Current council members Jeff Siefried and Jan Fisk have supported public safety for the citizens of
Springfield consistently. With their support, the City of Springfield was able to gain 9 additional firefighters to
respond to emergencies throughout the city.   
Two other candidates are seeking seats that are being vacated by Councilman Rush and Councilman Bailes after
their terms are up in April.   Greg Fishel (Zone 4) and Mike Carroll (General Seat B) have earned our support
by their understanding and commitment in continuing to make Springfield a safe place.   Greg Fishel is a small
business owner in Springfield and a longtime resident in the southeast part of the city.   Mike Carroll is an
attorney and accountant for a business located in Springfield.   Mike will bring a legal and accounting
background to the city council.  Both candidates will bring more of a diverse front for the council
Mayor Bob Stephens has earned our endorsement by his leadership on the city council and support for public
safety.  Elected in April of 2009, Bob Stephens represented a well needed change for city council.  Bob listened
to the concerns of Springfield's firefighters and offered his support in finding solutions.  Bob remains
committed in keeping the promises made to firefighters. 
His time on city council came after the failed February 2009 ballot initiative to fund the police/fire pension. 
Bob understood the gravity of the situation and supported, along with his other colleagues on city council, to
bring back the funding initiative before the voters in November 2009 that citizens approved.   Bob has a proven
voting record on city council that supports economic growth and public safety, which goes hand-in-hand to
make a successful Springfield.  
Members of Springfield Firefighters Association Local 152 are proud to roll out our yellow and black "Fire
Fighters For" campaign to support Bob Stephens, Jeff Siefried, Jan Fisk, Greg Fishel, and Mike Carroll in their
election to Springfield City Council.
