Khighla Parks' Memory Honored By Float At Christmas Parade
One of the winning floats in the Springfield Christmas Parade was dedicated to a local teenager's memory.
It was in honor of Khighla Parks, from Willard, who walked away from home back in September. Her body was found by boaters in Truman Lake. Anthony Balburnie has been charged with abandoning Parks' body.
Family members say Khighla always wanted to build a float for the parade, so they made it happen. "Khighla's General Store" highlighted her love for the country lifestyle and was followed by her horses.
The float won for being "most original".
